About

We are a married couple and parents to our 6-year-old son, Ethan. Frequently lost in the chaos and responsibilities of the moment, raising our child has made us all too familiar with the adage that time moves quicker as we get older.

We began this project with the hopes of capturing the essence of our lives in the present. By recreating images of our ordinary life on paper and canvas, we hope to artistically codify our experiences of today into memories of tomorrow.

For Ethan, this is an exercise in documenting life from the perspective of a toddler; for us, an important reminder of all the mundane moments that will ultimately constitute the realities of the contemporary life long after it passes.

As we embark on this project, our favored medium is to capture moments by incorporate images of items that may seem inconsequential but drive many of our interactions today. Ethan’s favorite toys, stuffed animals, and characters from his books and cartoons are recurrent themes. We also include our personal belongings and images of our home, often depicted through the eyes of Ethan.
